After a few days of needed enforced office days it was time to get out with Dave. We decided to make our way to the local horse shoe in Glen Nevis of Sgurr a Mhaim along the Devils ridge, Stob Ban and down the North ridge: one half of the Ring of Steal and a great way to descend.
I will let the photos speak for themselves but in summary the horse shoe was very banked out and the technical sections covered. But it brought the added excitement of negotiating cornices, snow arêtes and soft snow. A great day out and most of it done in a base layer!
There was a lot of remnants of collapsed cornices and snow fallen off the crags on most northerly aspects.
