Today was day 2 of the winter skills course with Julie and Pete. With a drier and less windy forecast I decided to get some height and views, so we walked round into Glen Nevis to Steal Ruins and then up towards Sgurr a’ Bhuic on the back of Aonach Beag.
Along the way we looked a good route choice through varied terrain and even had the chance to put crampons on for a short time with stunning views across to the snowy Mamores range. We then recapped a few ice axe arrests and hasty pits before making our way down through the intricate terrain past waterfalls and small crags in the deep snow.
A good weekend and a lot covered with good development made for Julie and Pete.
