On a very sunny Bank holiday weekend I set off early at 7.30am with 15 people for Maximum Adventure, on the start of their 3 peaks challenge. We started strong as a group and it soon became apparent that today was going to be a quick trip up and down. 12 of us reached the Red Burn in 1 hour and 10 minutes with the other 3 not far behind. The mountain was relatively quiet at that time of day with a few walkers and people getting in some pre Ben race training.
With views down Glen Nevis improving as we ascended we reached the summit in 2.5 hours, to more spectacular views south to Mull and west to the coast, with low cloud giving the area a very alpine feel. The temperature at the top was quite cold for the time of year with a constant breeze keeping the temperature down.
After a few photos we started our way down and made it back to the car park in 5 hours, with the temperature and sun increasing all the way down.
