Today Claire, Lisa and myself had a lazy Saturday start and headed into the Buachaille with the car park full. Assuming that the classic lines on the mountain of Curved Ridge and North Buttress might be busy this Easter weekend we headed for the less frequented buttress, and we weren’t disappointed.
With good, mixed scrambling on dry rough rock for the most part, varying from a rocky walk up to grade 3 and some mod sections we had an enjoyable day. The wind and drizzle picked up in the afternoon but not enough to slow our progress. And by mid afternoon we were walking up the final rocky slopes to just below the summit, where after seeing no-one all day we bumped into a few people and made our decent down the corrie and back to the car.
A good day all round; I got to practice my rope work and Lias and Claire had a chance to catch up, which they did for most of the day!
