Today myself and Claire went out for a ski. After checking the updates on the Nevis Range website to make sure the lifts were open due to the wind we headed out about midday. There was only a handful of people on the slopes but the skiing was good. A small layer of fresh powder on the lower slopes to the bottom of the chair lift and about an inch on the higher slopes. However if you got the wrong area of the slopes then it was very wind scoured snow with some very large rime crystals on top which was very unforgiving on the legs and jarred the body. A few snow flurries fell and the clouds came and went. So all in all if you picked your spot a good Scottish days skiing with some ‘natural features’ to add interest.
