Out with Helen again today, and it couldn’t have been much different from yesterday. We headed in to the Glen Etive hills with the sun on our backs, which continued for the rest of the day. We a long route planned over Stob Ghabhar, Clach Leathad and then Meall a Bhuiridh we had an early start.
Where the sun was hitting the snow pack it made it very soft with a thaw continuing. After viewing cornice collapses due to the sun we stuck to the shade with our crampons to the top of Stob Ghabhar after the thin ridge of Aonach Eagach. Making our way north the snow was becoming increasingly more firm taking our weight, enabling us to skip over the top. On the point of reaching the top of the Glen Coe ski centre we surprisingly came across a handful of skiers trying to eke out the day. A good day all round with very good views of our day yesterday, over to the Ben and Glen Coe.
